Salary:

£30,000 – £40,000 dependent on experience

 

Reporting to:

Service Team Leader

 

Location:

Workshop based in TP Matrix’s Oldham facility – TP House, Prince of Wales Industrial Units, Oldham, OL1 4ER.
Occasional visits to customer sites as required.

 

Main purpose of role:

Experienced Engineer in electronic disciplines including Test, Repair, Overhaul and Reverse Engineering of Safety Critical equipment used in Rail.

 

Key roles and responsibilities:

+ Repair, Test and Overhaul to component level of standard and complex analogue and digital electronic / electrical equipment, working to specific industry standards.
+ Evaluate and produce written Condition Assessments of products as they arrive for Test, Repair and Overhaul.
+ Provide product reliability improvements by way of Reverse Engineering and redesign of obsolete equipment.
+ Write professional Test, Repair and Overhaul procedures.
+ Solve technical challenges as they arise, e.g. Obsolescence issues.
+ Liaise with colleagues, clients and suppliers as appropriate.
+ Training and mentoring of others as required.
+ Aid in the Design of Test Boxes & Test Rigs for Manual and Automatic Testing of electronic equipment, including development of Test & Diagnostic software.

 

Desired qualifications:

+ Degree in Electrical / Electronic Engineering (preferred) or equivalent industry experience.
+ Some Electronic Design experience.
+ Minimum 5 years’ Experience in Electronic Engineering
+ Experience in test software programming (preferred).
+ Computer literate including Microsoft Office products.
+ Professional Report writing.
+ Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
+ Experience within the rail industry (preferred)
+ Conscientious & hard working.
